Studio Policies & Services
The free portrait consultation is designed to let the photographer get to know you and learn about your interests and lifestyle. This information will be helpful in designing the type of portrait that suits your needs. You're able to view samples of the photographer's work, learn about the different styles and types of portraits that are available, and have your questions and concerns addressed.
Recommendations will be made to you concerning the styles and colors of clothing that would be appropriate to you, both in terms of portraying you accurately and coordinating you with the other elements of the portrait. Additionally, you'll learn about the portrait session, the presentation, and ordering policies of the studio. At the conclusion of the consultation you should have a feel for what is required in order to produce a dynamic professional portrait.
If your portrait sitting is scheduled for the studio you'll want to arrive well rested and ready to go. At Michael Minner PHOTOGRAPHY sessions are scheduled far enough apart to create your portraits and create them well. We value your time and assure you that by arriving promptly for your scheduled appointment that you'll not have to wait in line with other folks. We'll be waiting for you and only you! We don't count poses and you'll get whatever it takes to provide you with quality, variety, and an ample selection from which to choose. If it takes a dozen poses---fine. If it takes 25 to 30---that's fine, too! A dressing room with a full length mirror is provided for your convenience.
If your portrait session is at home or some other location you can be assured that it will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you as well as at the time when the natural light will be most pleasant.
Your portrait preview presentation is scheduled, at your convenience, about 7 to 10 days after the sitting. You'll be treated to an audio/visual presentation, unlike any you've ever seen before, where you're the star of the show!
 Slide previews are projected at a size appropriate enough to aid you in choosing poses and expressions that you like, while at the same time, providing you with an opportunity to screen out the ones you're not so crazy about. By viewing these original images together with the photographer you're able to benefit from his/her expertise in terms of selecting the best pose and composition. If questions arise concerning print enhancement or retouching of complexions the photographic artist is right there to address them. This is important because many people are unaware of the enhancements that can be made by a professional portrait photographer to truly make your portrait a work of art.
You'll feel comfortable knowing that award winning Master photographer, Michael Minner, has helped you every step of the way in selecting an image that he would be proud to present to his peers as representative of his best work.
The ordering procedure at Michael Minner PHOTOGRAPHY is simple and convenient. Unlike many department store studios ours does not require you to purchase predesigned packages. Every person is different and their needs are different. Feel free to select as few or as many poses as you like and have the portraits made in any sizes you like. Depending upon the size of your order you should expect that your portraits would be completed within 2 to 4 weeks.
 Payment at the studio can be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. A 50% deposit is required at the time the order is placed with the balance due at completion. Accounts not settled within 30 days of notification that the order is completed are subject to a 2% monthly finance charge on the existing balance. Special discounts are available to students and senior citizens.
Professional photographers are protected by Federal Copyright Law just like people in other creative professions. That means that each portrait made is copyrighted the moment the image is recorded, and that the creator of the photograph has complete control over the making of additional copies.
It is illegal to copy portraits made by a professional photographer without the expressed written consent of the photographer. Michael Minner, M. Photog., retains the negatives to all portraits that he creates for the convenience of his clients. Please feel free to discuss your needs for copies of portraits with us. The studio is pleased to accomodate all reasonable requests.
Michael Minner PHOTOGRAPHY provides an unconditional guarantee of customer satisfaction. If you are dissatisfied with your portraits for any reason the studio will provide you with a complete refund or replacement as per your wishes.
